Holly’s Instagram was already up and running. I had been tracking it since February to see how she does on her own, she uploads around 2 posts a week getting an average of 14 likes. When I first starting tracking she had 11 posts, 88 Followers and 178 Following. By the time the campaign went live on March 6th, we had 17 posts, 94 Followers, 181 following and average likes of 14.3.
The second week of the campaign we started liking other makeup artists posts, being a bit more active as a user. We had 2 new posts and gained 2 new followers. Average likes jumped to 15.4 this I believe was down to liking other users posts and using hashtags, bringing attention to the post.
To get the account out there we started following loads of accounts, people using the same hashtags we were and makeup brands and accounts, that repost makeup artists. So the become a more of a recommended page for the topic #makeupartist. We followed over 100 accounts gaining 56 followers within the week. Over the rest of the campaign, our followers and following raised gradually, finishing on 164 followers, not quite our target of 200 but not far off. Over the rest of the campaign our followers and following raised gradually, finishing on 164 followers, not quite our target of 200 but not far off. Had I implemented the campaign for longer I think 200 would have been very achievable. In total, we gained 70 followers over 5 weeks.
One thing I am proud of is getting the average likes up. Holly's average was 14 likes per post, by the end of the campaign it was 18. This means the page's posts have a better chance of making it further Instagram’s algorithm, therefor getting more views and leading to more followers and likes.
